With the Kayano 5 receiving wild reception upon its revival, the tiger flags of Asics have pushed the model into 2019 with new colorways and now a modern update. Doing away with the intricacy and the bulky stature for which the original was known, the label is adorning the retro upper with a sock-like construction for a sleeker overall look. Sole units are cut down considerably for one of a lower profile with its molded accents being withered down for a smoother appearance. Exposed GEL leaves the classic DNA in unison with the overstated profile logo, whereas the layered panelling is removed in favor of an upper more minimal. White and Black dominate the palette, using the latter for contrast throughout the entire kit with red subtly dosing in along both the tongue and heel counter.
