Over the past few years, the New Balance 992 has drawn the attention of countless fashion enthusiasts after often being dismissed as a “dad shoe” in the decade immediately following its 2006 debut. And while the Steve Jobs-approved model is still a favorite among fathers, iterations like this maroon and grey one continue delivering impressive, non-greyscale options to those looking for just that.
Spec-wise, this pair is identical to KITH‘s forthcoming “Steel Blue” series, but color palettes differ. Premium pig suede covers the bulk of this 992‘s uppers, with its wine-like hue also overtaking the mesh base that peeks out through various overlays. Profile “N” logos, like accompanying panels across the forefoot, midfoot, and heel, indulge in a grey hue synonymous with the Boston-based brands footwear.
